Energy Tax Credit

There is now a significant tax incentive for making improvements the your homes overall efficiency, which now includes HVAC thanks to the American Recovery and Revitalization Act of 2009.

The new law will give homeowners the chance to claim up to 30% of the costs(with a $1,500 limit) for installing higher efficiency boilers, furnaces, air source heat pumps, central air conditioners, and water heaters for the 2009 and 2010 tax years.

Also, energy companies will often times give a cash rebate for installing more efficient equipment. When you add in the $1,500 tax credit, savings on your energy bill from the more efficient equipment, possible manufacturer and government rebates, you get a great price.
